Last week, our EYE - Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ Consortium representative Giovanni Crisonà had the privilege of meeting Jorge Godoy, a distinguished architect and host entrepreneur for the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) Programme, in Berlin. Daniela Salazar also joined them, enriching the discussion as we explored the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and architecture.
The conversation focused on Jorge's remarkable efforts to cultivate entrepreneurial skills among New Entrepreneurs and the ways in which the 'Entrepreneurs Mobility' consortium can support these initiatives. Jorge shared his extensive professional journey, which spans Europe, Chile, and beyond. Giovanni Crisonà was particularly struck by the depth and value of his contributions over the years, reflecting a unique blend of creativity and sustainability.
Jorge's philosophy, as outlined in his EYE Programme profile, highlights the importance of exchanging ideas and embracing fresh perspectives. "Hosting an aspiring entrepreneur through the EYE Programme is a unique opportunity to contribute to the professional growth of emerging talent whilst enriching our own practice with new ideas and energy," he remarked. His work emphasises experimental architecture, ecological regeneration, and interspecies design, leveraging interdisciplinary collaboration to challenge conventions and reimagine architectural practices.
As the founder of GUN Architects, based in Berlin and Santiago, Jorge has consistently pioneered innovative approaches. His projects, spanning architectural works, pavilions, and ecological initiatives, reflect a profound commitment to sustainability and material experimentation. Among his notable endeavours is a rural planning initiative in Chile, developed over 12 years, along with microclimate and ecological regeneration projects in public spaces.
Jorge’s collaborative ethos is evident in his eagerness to learn from the digital skills and innovative ideas brought by New Entrepreneurs. He expressed enthusiasm about integrating their advanced modelling techniques and sustainable practices into ongoing projects across Germany, the UK, and Chile.
The meeting underscored not only Jorge's professional achievements but also his vision for empowering the next generation of architects and entrepreneurs. His story serves as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of mentorship and collaboration in shaping a sustainable and innovative future.
