PRESENTATION OF THE EXCHANGE
Description of activities, objectives reached, and outputs
The new entrepreneur, Franziska, is a versatile performing artist, choreographer, director, and yoga teacher from Germany (www.franziska-plueschke.com). Meanwhile, host entrepreneur Dimitris is an accomplished actor, writer, producer, and educator, as well as the founder of artistic companies and the artistic director of the private Higher School of Dramatic Art "Theater ΙΟΘ” (sxoli-theatrou.gr/en/drama-school/).
After identifying their respective profiles in the system, they recognized a great fit and potential synergies, and developed a detailed concept for their collaboration. Dimitris was interested in learning more about techniques to develop body awareness, breath work, and new ranges of movement to help actors reach their full potential in rehearsals and performances. In exchange, Franziska intended to gain insight into all other subjects taught at the theatre school, as well as the skills necessary to grow her business.
Franziska offered a series of workshops and masterclasses on yoga and movement for acting students during her stay at Dimitris’ Higher School of Dramatic Art, focusing on techniques to develop body awareness, breath work, and new ranges of movement. This included movement improvisation techniques as well as yoga practice.
At the end of her stay, there was a final performance called "The Happy Conflict”, showcasing the newly learned movement techniques and skills.
Dimitris and his drama school teachers engaged in an artistic exchange with Franziska through various workshops and masterclasses. Many expert discussions took place, and she was able to participate actively in a wide variety of classes. Dimitris also assisted Franziska in exploring Greek culture, the art scene, and its history. The relationship between the two entrepreneurs proved to be very fruitful and creative.
Dimitris and Franziska had a successful cultural exchange. The students were pleased with this special subject offering and were able to gain new insights and inspiration from Franziska. The final presentation provided a fruitful learning experience for everyone.
Franziska gained valuable pedagogical insights into teaching content, and understanding the theater school system in Athens provided her with important new knowledge. Teaching in English was a successful and rewarding challenge. Immersing herself in Greek culture through museum and theater visits was also educational, interesting, and horizon-expanding. Additionally, learning the basics of the Greek language was a success and offered her new sources of inspiration.
Dimitris, in turn, was pleased that Franziska offered additional classes for acting students, complementing their artistic training. This allowed them to experience the integration of body awareness, breath work, and a new range of movements.
