PRESENTATION OF THE EXCHANGE
Brief introduction
During her three-month Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs exchange program in Hungary, Gülce Aksu, a student of City and Regional Planning from the İzmir Institute of Technology, collaborated with Smart-Inno Expert Ltd. under the mentorship of Dr. Gábor Pintér. Her startup idea, Geofficient, focuses on GIS-based spatial suitability analysis for Agri-PV (Agricultural Photovoltaics) systems. Throughout the program, she integrated sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship by testing her software on real datasets, improving its analytical performance, and strengthening international collaboration opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
Activities undertaken
The collaboration focused on developing and optimizing a GIS-based decision-support tool for solar and Agri-PV site selection using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Gülce conducted pilot integrations, optimized algorithms and analyzed real projects from the portfolio of Smart-Inno. Together with her host entrepreneur, she aligned the tool with Eurogia2030 project standards, explored environmental and economic impact metrics, and prepared visual materials for project documentation. The activities also included networking with renewable energy stakeholders, participating in mentoring sessions, and identifying joint research and commercialization opportunities.
Benefits achieved
The exchange provided Gülce with valuable experience in international project management, business model validation and cross-sector networking. She strengthened her technical knowledge in GIS, renewable energy analytics, and sustainability modeling, while also enhancing her entrepreneurial mindset. The host company benefited from access to innovative methodologies that improved their solar project workflows and introduced Agri-PV as a new strategic focus area. The collaboration resulted in the preparation of a joint Eurogia2030 proposal, showcasing tangible progress toward green innovation and sustainable business integration.
